studio

This is the livinghumans studio where we record, mix and master our music.  Occasionally, some of the music is recorded at other locations and shipped back here for mixing, but this is where we do most of our recording.

techie stuff

We typically record at 24 bit 44.1 KHz into a Cakewalk Sonar Platinum Win7x64 Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) through an RME ADI8-QS A/D/A converter and an RME HDSP9652 PCI host interface. We use very good mics and preamps to get the best possible sounding audio source signal. Mixdown and mastering are also done in our studio. The finished stereo tracks are deployed right from the studio out to the Internet.

the machinery

Every recording studio employs some collection of gear to get the music from ethereal musings and emotive expression to something that other people far, far away can actually hear.  This is how livinghumans does it...
